After the death of my parents, 10 months apart, a melody began to coalesce in my mind to match my loss and grief. Once that melody was set, I wrote a chord progression to continue the feeling of the melody. A close friend and colleague suggested I consider lyrics and so began my venture into vocals. The 7/4 time signature is intended to give the feeling of being off-balance.
